Is it neccessary to give a gift for a third marriage?

My wife’s sister is getting married for the third time to man that has also been married twice before and they have been living together for the last 5 years.
The wedding will be a small one held in her mothers back yard. Is it appropriate or expected that they get a wedding gift seeing that they have been together so long and it is the third marriage for both?

Yes, I think as a guest you should give them a gift. Now remember as people begin giving Elizabeth Taylor a run for her money on the record for the number of marriages, the gifts actually get smaller and somewhat more personal – rather than the toaster or mixer.
