To us there is one designer who truly re-invents bridal each and every market. Not just to set up new trends for brides (as we all know trends are what we are seeing someone already wearing), but to be the trail blazer. We appreciate being amazed every time we see this designer’s latest collection. Monique Lhuillier is a revolutionary visionista who truly had us dropping our jaw with every gown that appeared on the runway…. not to mention her stunning use of capes and jackets.
Really taking every bridal style into account, Monique Lhuillier creates her Spring 2014 collection with every bride in mind. As Monique says, “I wanted to consider the needs of every type of bride…from City Hall to the altar whether there are hundreds of guests or just two.” From mini dresses with overcoats in jacquards and Monique’s signature lace to the introduction of full length capes in silk crepe and lace all ending with her signature ball gown, the classic Monique.
The most notable silhouettes in the collection was; Dee, an A-line coat with a jacquard cap sleeve and open back, Minnie with it’s floral jacquard bell coat, stunning Joie lace long sleeve off the shoulder gown, the awe struck design of Sandrine with its silk white Chantilly lace cape and Chantilly lace strapless sheath gown. A big thank you to Monique for continuing her detachable train with her Intrigue gown in Oyster Chantilly lace and trumpet skirt. And, just when you thought you had seen everything Monique surprises us with a ivory long sleeve embroidered tulle coat adding drama to the V-neck embroidered tulle sheath gown called Clementine. All in all and once again Monqiue Lhuillier hands down is navigating the couture bridal market waters steering the direction for bridal fabulous!
