We stumbled across a great article by Lauren Sorenson on Hubspot that encapsulates the seven components to brand strategy. We’ve always believed in a strong brand presence and these 7 tips ring true to the way we have developed our expanded product line.
#1 – Tie your brand to your business model
Lauren explains that your brand is not your product or service, but rather how you are perceived by your customers. For example Disney = Magic, Volvo = Safe, The Wedding Guys = Trend
#2 – Be Consistent
Reinforce your attributes through all of your communications.
#3 – Connect Emotionally
Think about how your brand makes people feel. Apple can charge almost double what it’s competitors can on similar products because Apple makes you feel ‘hip’.
#4 – Reward and Cultivate
A thank you goes a long way to express your appreciation, but some extra swag and a request for a review or endorsement really makes them feel special.
#5 – Measure
Track and compare your results by making sure to monitor each campaign from start to finish.
#6 – Be Flexible
Old tactics may need a refresh to get you outside of your box.
#7 – Watch Out for Competitors…A Little
Keep apprised of what your competitors do, but don’t let it dictate your every move.
