Maximizing ROI is an important part of any marketing program. Each year we audit the traffic of bridal websites in an effort to best align our marketing resources. Each year we will also update you with the traffic comparison research so you, too, can best allocate your resources.
It is no surprise that two companies dominate the digital space in the shopping>wedding category. TheKnot.com is ranked #1 as a single platform. WeddingWire powers the vendor listings for multiple sites, including WeddingWire.com, (ranked #2), Brides.com (ranked #3), Weddingbee.com (ranked #4), MarthaStewartWeddings.com (ranked #8) and ProjectWedding.com (ranked #24). Their aggregated traffic places them on top of estimated monthly visits according to SimilarWeb.com, a web-based analytic service.
While product-driven sites like minted.com, weddingpaperdivas.com, and efavormart.com figure into the overall traffic ranking of wedding-related sites, vendor-based sites like StyleMePretty.com (ranked #6) and MyWedding.com (ranked #9) round out the top 10.
Surprisingly, several national planning sites didn’t even make SimilarWeb’s top 50. Those down the list included Onewed.com (ranked #86) and PerfectWeddingGuide.com (ranked #169).
If you are investing in marketing services through national websites our recommendation is to spend your money wisely with the sites providing the highest traffic; WeddingWire.com, TheKnot.com and MyWedding.com. The rest have such minimal traffic, your investment is better spent on another marketing avenue.
