HAPPY CANADA DAY! Meet our favorite Canadian wedding planner, Lynn Fletcher CEO of Lynn Fletcher Weddings!
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Right in Calgary! I was born here and love living here 40 something years later!
Q: How and when did you know you wanted to be a part of the wedding industry?
A: It was when I was preparing to get married in 1998 that I found I really loved the process of building the giant puzzle full of details and making it all happen at the end. I did not plan to become a wedding planner/designer, it just sort of happened. I was teaching special education at that time and planned weddings on the side. Mostly décor back then. I would just get calls from Brides that knew someone I knew, and it built up for there.
Q: What is one word that describes you?
A: Intense (or so I’m told) I can’t say no to an opportunity of a challenge.
Q: If you had a life soundtrack, what songs would it include?
A: Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. There are no other choices… It’s kind of my signature song.
Q: Do you have any icons?
A: Yes, Personally: my Mother and Father who taught me and continue to teach me that hard work pays off and to “take responsibility for my life and be responsible about it” I love that saying.
Professionally: Everyone around me is inspiring… to put my focus on one person would make me a stalker.. haha. I can learn and take something away from everyone I meet or follow in the industry.
Q: What is your drink of choice?
A: Pino Grigio in a mason jar full of ice.
Q: What would you want brides to know about planning a wedding?
A: That it is a process that you do little by little. Don’t try to do it all at once. Trust the process and hire a planner to guide you through it.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote or words of inspiration?
A: “When you know better, you do better” Mya Angelou
“ Worry when you have to worry and not a minute before” My Dad
