Q: What does Avant Décor specialize in?
A: We specialize in ceiling draping, chandeliers, cafe lighting, and backdrops
Q: What makes Avant Décor stand out compared to other wedding décor options?
A: Our company is the only company who specializes primarily in ceiling decor, so we have a wider variety of fabrics and options than most other companies. We stock high quality products and roll our fabric after each use to ensure it looks great at every event. And we love what we do!
Q: When did Avant Décor Co. open?
A: We started in 2005.
Q: What do you love about working in the wedding industry?
A: We have such a great event industry in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. It’s great knowing that I’m friends with most of my competing vendors and if I’m ever in a pinch, I can definitely give them a call for help. We also have such great clients, it’s awesome to be able to transform a room and make their wedding visions into a reality!
Q: What’s an average (wedding) day like for you?
A: During wedding season, we average between 15-25 weddings a weekend so there is no average day for us! We have a great staff and typically have 2-3 teams of people tackling the installs. We generally start the installation process on Thursday and work through Saturday installing, then the takedown process starts at midnight Saturday and runs through Monday.
Q: What would you want a couple in the wedding planning process to know about wedding décor/draping?
A: Remember the old saying of “you get what you pay for” when searching for vendors. Getting the best deal doesn’t always mean you’ll be happy with the final product so be sure that you are using your budget wisely. When looking at decor options, find photos of decor in the same or similar venues to yours that you like. This will help your vendor give you an accurate quote and let you know what is actually feasible to replicate in your venue.
Q: What do you offer for décor/draping options?
A: We offer over 35 different draping fabrics in a variety of colors and fabrics. For lighting, we have 3 different choices of cafe lights, 5 styles of chandeliers, light curtains and LED uplighting. We also have fun options such as crystal curtains and columns, gold bubble curtain, crystal strands and paper lanterns which can be incorporated into the decor.
Q: Can you think of a wedding or event that you have worked on that stands out?
A: It’s great seeing the different venues our clients choose for their weddings. We’ve worked in horse barns, community fairgrounds, golf domes, a shuffle board court and most recently, a greenhouse. Seeing these basic structures transform into beautiful wedding receptions always wows us-and the guests!
