TPI wants to take the hassle out of your guest accommodation services! For this week’s V-O-W, we spoke with Dan Nelson, to learn everything you need to know about making your wedding weekend seamless for all involved!
Q: For those who don’t know the name, what is TPI Hospitality?
A: MN’s largest hospitality company and we are the largest employee-owned hospitality company in the country.

Q: What does TPI Hospitality specialize in and how can couples utilize your services throughout the wedding process?
A: Our Rochester niche is offering 3 hotels to choose from for wedding blocks and coordinating their shuttle service we coordinate and pay for their guests.
We also have a couple rooms for hosting Groom’s dinners and or Gift Openings.
We provide a nice weekend experience centered around the wedding, as the bridesmaids and groomsmen and families combine for a weekend reunion.
Q: What makes TPI Hospitality venues stand out in terms of a wedding venue and hotel options couples have in the Rochester or Twin Cities area?
A: We partner with the venues and can offer impartial insights to them. We are centrally located and handy to the venues in Rochester.
In the Twin Cities, we have popular clusters of hotels in great areas; St. Louis Park, Eagan, Bloomington, Maple Grove, Shoreview and Roseville.

Q: When did TPI Hospitality begin?
A: It’s a great story starting with one Holiday Inn in 1973, growing to 40 hotels and 10 restaurants currently!
Q: If the TPI Hospitality experience had a personality, what would be three words to describe it?
A: Outrageous

Q: What do you love about working in the wedding industry?
A: The game day excitement they bring and the need to execute precisely, because it is someone’s wedding!
Q: What’s an average day at TPI Hospitality like?
A: Never boring! Wedding business, sports teams, and lots of medical guests needing special help.
Q: What would you want a couple in the wedding planning process to know about choosing the perfect reception or hotel venue?
A: One that provides lifetime memories and runs weddings without a hitch. One where those from out of town are raving about the hotels they’re staying at, adding to the wedding experience.
Q: Other than the hotel accommodations, how can couples getting married enjoy what TPI Hospitality has to offer?
A: We also have convenient rooms to host their groom’s dinners and/or gift openings. We relieve the bride and groom of the hassle to coordinate a shuttle service. In addition, Cara Sathrum, our group sales manager, is a former wedding planner and has expertise to tap for free!
Q: Anything else you want couples to know about TPI Hospitality or choosing a wedding related venue?
A: We don’t want any money from the bride and groom, we offer perks for them to choose our hotels to host their out of town guests.
