Paintball is quickly becoming one of the most requested bachelor party ideas in MN. With fun northeast dive bars down the street and access to the hottest downtown nightlife a short drive away, splatball is one of the quickest ways to have fun during the day for your bachelor(ette) party. This week we sat down with Walker to learn more about this insanely fun bachelor(ette) party option.
Q: What does Splatball specialize in?
A: Splatball specializes in low impact paintball that is perfect for birthdays, bachelor/ bachelorette parties and company events. This new type of paintball uses smaller and softer paintballs to allow players to play fast-paced paintball with less pain and mess.
Q: What makes Splatball stand out in terms of Bachelor and Bachelorette Party options brides and grooms have in the Twin Cities area?
A: Splatball is a very popular bachelor and bachelor destination for multiple reasons but notably because of how much fun you can have in a short period of time! Our indoor paintball park allows groups to visit no matter the weather and also allows for the convenience to head a few miles to downtown for their next activity whether it be dinner, drinks or more activities.
Q: When did Splatball begin?
A: Splatball originally opened in 1984 and has since become the premier paintball field in Minneapolis with a 15,000 square foot indoor combat arena.
Q: Where is Splatball located?
A: The paintball center is located in North East Minneapolis right off of HWY 94 and Broadway. 2921 N 2nd Street Minneapolis, MN.
Q: What’s a party Splatball look like? What does a package include?
A: Great question! When booking a party groups can select basic to upgraded packages. All paintball packages are per player and include everything you’ll need to play, including protective masks, paintball guns and paintballs! After checking in, you will have a short game and equipment presentation. Once the group is ready to play, a staff member will accompany players. The party will then play a mix of paintball games (capture the flag, defend the castle, etc.) in the arena. Reservations also include a table in which you can bring in snacks or catered food and non-alcoholic beverages. There is no additional charge for guests wishing to not play, they are welcome to watch through spectator windows.
Q: Do you have any fun or unique stories about Splatball bachelor(ette) parties that you can share with us?
A: We do; a whole bunch! Most parties have the bachelor run the gauntlet (where everyone shoots them as they run from one end of the field to the other). Women often bring old dresses to splat up and the guys sometimes make the bachelor wear pink or a funny costume!
Q: What would you want a bride or groom and their bridal parties planning a bachelor(ette) party to know about choosing event or activity for their party?
A: Our venue is very fun, easygoing and simple to plan a party. Parties may be booked online and we have everything you need! You can also call nearby bars (Psycho Suzies and Betty Dangers) for your after-party!
Q: How far in advance should a Splatball package for a bachelor(ette) party?
A: You can actually book a party the day of (if times are still available) but we recommend booking about two weeks out for ideal reservations.
Q: Anything else do you want couples to know Splatball?
A: Yeah, before booking check out our specials. Right now The Bachelor and or Bachelorette play for free with a promo code! Also, note that our paintballs wash out of clothing but they’re harder to get out of the limo or bus seats. Groups can bring extra clothes to change into.
