It always seems as though you are constantly scrolling through article after article about current wedding trends. So, we decided to change it up this week and provide you with wedding trends you should avoid. We have 6 wedding trends that are so last season!
1. Flower Crowns
Although flower crowns may be beautiful, they have been overworn in way too many settings. Flower crowns are the most basic accessory at festivals of all types. You absolutely do not want to give off a musical festival vibe on your special day. If you are in love with the boho look of a flower crown, pass it on to your flower girl!
2. Over-staged Portraits

We understand that it is easy to scroll through Pinterest and find portraits you would like to recreate. However, these portraits will give off a staged feeling. Instead of focusing too much on getting that perfect shot, allow your personalities to shine through in natural shots.
3. Food Trucks
PC: Shared Appetite
Who doesn’t love to try delicious food from food trucks, right? But you need to consider the long lines that your guests will have to wait in. Food trucks may have been trendy before, but are definitely going out of style. Try incorporating other interesting food options for snacks. Charcuterie or cheese boards anyone?
4. All White Wedding
PC: Lauren B Photography
Yes, all white weddings are classic, elegant, and beautiful. It’s easy to understand why brides love the color white! The newest trend this season is to incorporate color into your wedding! Liven up your big day with pops of color. Perhaps a signature color?
5. Candy Bar
PC: Aboutamom
By the end of the night, your guests will be craving a late night snack. Candy may seem like a cute and easy idea, but guests will be on the search for something more substantial after hitting the dance floor for hours on end. Late night sundae bar anyone? Your guests will be screaming I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
6. Photo Booth/Photo booth props
PC: Mitchell Orr
It appears that every great wedding includes a photo booth. Photo booths can be fun, but they can also be extremely tacky. Pink boas, yellow sunglasses, and masks don’t always make for the best photos. Instead, tell your photographer to take candids of guests. The candids will make you smile when you see that your guests had the time of their lives. If you are set on including a photo booth, try making your own props. Think outside of the box with funny signs or things that are meaningful to you and your soon to-be!
