Q: What does Ivory Isle Designs specialize in?
A: Ivory Isle Designs specializes in creating wedding stationery with beautiful design that is customized especially for each client, to bring their personal love story to paper.
Q: What makes Ivory Isle Designs stand out in terms of wedding paper/stationery?
A: We offer custom wedding stationery without the custom price tag! We do this by starting with our library of over 150 beautifully designed suites and then customizing them any way our clients need to fit perfectly for their event. We may use floral art from one design suite, with a monogram from another…. We’re happy to make those alterations, at no additional cost to our clients, to create something new just for them.
Q: When did Ivory Isle Designs begin?
A: I started Ivory Isle Designs in April 2006 after the stationery I designed for my own wedding was so well received. Friends soon asked if I could create their wedding stationery, and in no time, a business was born!
Q: What do you love about working in the wedding industry?
A: My favorite part of working in the wedding industry is getting to know our clients. I am so honored that they have let us be a part of the biggest day of their lives, so no matter how big or small the job, we put our heart into our work for them!
Q: What’s an average day at Ivory Isle Designs like?
A: It is often a flurry of activity, with various projects in different stages. We may be meeting with a new couple to brainstorm stationery concepts, creating mood boards to present ideas or editing files for final approval. Some hand assembly production is handled in our office with our production manager, Sherie, but most production is sent to our press house off-site, coordinated by our designer, Kacey, to ensure everything is perfect for printing. No matter what is on our schedule for the day, for me it’s sure to be a mix of art and business, and there is nothing I love more!
Q: What would you want a couple in the wedding planning process to know about wedding stationery?
A: The wedding stationery is the first glimpse that guests will have of the overall look and feel of the event, so it plays a significant role. It should be personal to the couple and set the tone for the big day, but it doesn’t have to be boring or stuffy! Stationery can be a great avenue to add special touches that are important or unique to just the bride and groom.
Q: What are some of the newest trends you are seeing for wedding stationery?
A: Interesting, handwritten calligraphy fonts have been big the last few years and aren’t going anywhere soon! They bring a lot of personality to a design. Marble art and textures is another trend that we see growing, as well as watercolor art used in stationery. Crests and Monograms are more tradition than trend in the world of stationery, but are worth mentioning as well because of their continued prevalence.
Q: If you were to create your dream wedding stationery what would it look like?
A: My answer might change by the day, depending on my mood, but it would definitely be a mix of soft watercolor artwork with rose gold foil accents and a clean modern typeface.
Q: Have you done any unique wedding stationery that stands out to you?
A: We recently designed a beautiful Blue Portuguese Tile invitation suite for a couple with a May wedding in Lisbon. The stationery needed to set the tone for the amazing, vibrant culture the guests would experience while in Portugal. For printing, we used Letterpress on extra-thick 220-pound eggshell card stock to bring a traditional and timeless quality to the piece. A matching envelope liner and belly band made the completed suite truly stunning!
