There is no “average day” at Diamond Bride, unless one were to describe it as “Busy!”. Located in Plymouth, MN, Diamond Bride stocks over 500 dresses, and there are always brides getting alterations, and more ordering custom gowns, and yet others ordering dresses for their bridesmaids. The store’s owner Colby John personally selects its wedding gowns from around the world. Not only that, he designs his own line that’s carried at the store, as well as in over 200 stores across the country.
Prior to designing wedding gowns, Colby John was actually a National Champion gymnast, but once he began managing a bridal store in his native Iowa, he realized he loved the bridal industry and wanted to become an even bigger part of it. Since becoming the owner of Diamond Bride and establishing his own line, he has dressed thousands of brides and continues to use his creativity to please brides every day. We asked John some fun facts to get a side of him some don’t often see, and here’s what we learned!
