As you know, we recently came back from the 2019 Bridal Fashion Week in NYC. We saw so many gorgeous gowns it’s hard to keep track, but we’re here to tell you about even more trends we spotted. They just might make it to stores in our neck of the woods. Get inspired by all that these bridal fashion trends you might not have seen, we know we did.
TIERS…OR THAT PRAIRIE LOOK
We’ve seen tiers before, and we’ll see them again, but the ones spotted this runway season were fresh, light and modern. Victor & Rolf Mariage’s skirt balanced out the voluminous sleeves on the same gown. Newcomer Daarlna Folk Collection’s tiers were proportional to the more delicate sleeves, and we loved the lace on this sophisticated dress. Sahroo’s unembellished gown was so simple it was contemporary, and perfect for the bride who doesn’t need bling to shine. And Theia’s strapless bold gown showed us that ruched fabric could be the star quality of the gown. Even Amsale got into the prairie-style tiered act.
COWL NECKS
What’s old is new again, and the same can be said of the cowl neck. Sexy and simple, sophisticated and sweet, the cowl is making a comeback and we say bring it on! Everyone from Savannah Miller to Romona Keveza New York had their own interpretation of this romantic style.
CAPES
Many bridal designers showed capes on the runway, proving you can feel like a true superhero on your wedding day.
