American designer Matthew Christopher has been creating couture bridal designs that are feminine, modern, and sophisticated for years. We wanted to bring him (and his amazing gowns!) to your attention, not only to put him on your radar but also so you can plan to see his gowns walk down the Aisle of Style Fashion Show at The Twin Cities Bridal Show.
We sat down with Posh Bridal Couture’s Owner, Marie Suchy, to tell us everything she loves about this designer with Midwestern roots and high-style of international proportions, some of the many attributes that make Matthew Christopher a classic bridal designer.
A COUTURE TOUCH
Suchy explains that Christopher’s fit, along with seaming and couture fabrics is what makes his gowns stand out. “I love the structure and quality of his designs. When you see a Matthew Christopher dress you know it’s his. You can see that it’s made to make a woman look and feel amazing.”

A DESIGNER FOR ALL BRIDES
Christopher’s designs attract brides of all ages and demographics, “We sell younger brides and just sold a 60-year-old bride one of his gowns. They speak to the Midwestern woman because Matthew is from the Midwest and he knows what their likes and dislikes are.”

CLASSIC BUT MODERN
But he also has a “classic traditional with a modern twist” aesthetic, which never wavers. “He has some signature pieces in his collection that will be his top dresses forever but he also brings in trends in his own way. By staying true to himself and designing with his bride in mind, he’s not playing to trends, but rather, incorporating trends into classic design styles.

CUSTOMIZATION IS KEY
“What we love about him is that he will customize about anything. We do modifications on over half our Matthew gowns so our brides truly can make a one-of-a-kind dress that fits their vision, venue and look.” So this means he offers variety, and isn’t afraid to change a design in order to make a bride feel her best. His gowns work in any venue, and there isn’t one “type” of Matthew Christopher customer.
To see more of his gowns in person, come to the Twin Cities Bridal Show at the Saint Paul RiverCentre THIS Sunday, January 26th, where models will show off some of Matthew Christopher’s latest styles. You’ll see firsthand why Matthew Christopher is a classic bridal designer. (Wedding Guys Wisdom: there’s nothing like seeing a gown move down the runway!)
