My clients know that they can always count on me to be taking care of their needs.
Organizing your wedding day can be a daunting task, so why not let a professional wedding coordinator handle it for you? Meet Anna Quigley. She’s the owner and Day-of Coordinator at Your Day Coordinations, a Twin Cities-based wedding vendor eager to ensure “Your Day” goes as smoothly as possible.
As a wedding coordinator, Anna handles all the details of the day from the bridal party schedule to troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and just about anything in between. Below, she talks about why you need to have a day-of professional to have a truly hands-off wedding day.
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Our specialty is making sure that every plan that a bride and groom have for their wedding day goes as smoothly as possible with as little involvement for the couple as possible. I like to say we allow our couples to be guests at their own weddings.
Q: Where can we find you?
A: We are based in the northwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities area, but we travel all over the state.
Q: Tell us when and how Your Day Coordinations began.
A: My business became a reality three years ago. After helping a co-worker with her wedding day plans and realizing that I really did love doing this, I decided to make this dream of mine a reality! I created a website and Facebook page and started to market myself.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: What makes Your Day Coordinations unique is that I am our only employee. I love to work through every part of the “day-of” process and you work exclusively with me from the very beginning until the end of the night on the day of the wedding. I love that my clients know that they can always count on me to be taking care of their needs.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: I have only been in the industry for a few years as a professional, but I have been helping with weddings for nearly ten years. The biggest thing I have seen is the change in the bride’s desire to hire a day-of wedding coordinator. It is now becoming a “must-have” for many brides and that is really exciting!
Q: Walk us through your average day.
A: My day starts as soon as the venue opens. I take care of all of the pre-ceremony and reception decorations and vendor coordination for the day. I manage the schedule and take care of any unforeseen issues that arise. My day doesn’t end until the party is over. I take care of all the clean-up and packing up that is required so that bridal parties and their families can simply enjoy their time all the way to the end!
Q: What would you want couples searching for your business type to know?
A: I do this because I absolutely love weddings and I make sure that each wedding is a personal experience from start to finish. Every wedding is different and since I am the owner and coordinator, I have the flexibility to give each bride exactly what they need for a price they can afford.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: That is entirely up to the bride. I have weddings booked a year out already and I have some that are booked two months in advance. Everything will be taken care of either way.
Q: What kind of weddings do you like the most?
A: That is a tough question to answer! I have yet to attend (whether working or not) a wedding that I didn’t enjoy myself at. I do love when the weddings take place in really unique venues, it really adds something extra to the feel of the day, I think!
Q: What trends do you think we’ll see more of this year?
A: I think finding a day-of coordinator is going to be something that becomes more of the norm. As more people see them in action at other weddings, they are going to want that certainty and hands-off feel for their own wedding day.
Q: What is your current favorite color combination?
A: I am really into muted colors right now! Pale pinks, navy/gray hues, soft greens, etc. I just can’t get enough of those!
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: Do you have any favorite podcasts?
A: I love listening to The Deconstructionist Podcast! They discuss really tough topics and deep questions but without making you feel that their perception is the right one! Love it!
Q: Who’s your most played artist on your streaming service?
A: I like to listen to anything that I can sing along to, right now I am into listening to The Greatest Showman Soundtrack! Such great music!
Q: Heels or flats?
A: Flats! I never really got into heels, which is interesting because I am not very tall. I am a fast walker, and that just doesn’t work well with heels for me.
Q: Mountains or Beach?
A: Mountains! So beautiful! I love really feeling like I am out in the middle of nowhere and hearing and seeing what is going on around me!
Q: Go-to cocktail (or mocktail)?
A: Whiskey sour. I’m pretty basic like that!
Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: All sorts of different things, I just follow my heart and let it take the lead!
Q: You’re at brunch. Are you going for something sweet or savory?
A: Savory! I am always the last to switch over to dessert!
Q: Go-to comfort food?
A: Chipotle! It’s just so good! And it’s a lot of steps to try and make it myself at home!
Q: Duck Duck Grey Duck or Duck Duck Goose?
A: I wasn’t born in Minnesota, but I grew up here, and it is definitely Duck, Duck, Grey Duck!
