A: Montrose, MN (But we serve most of MN and Western WI for weddings)
Q: Tell us when and how Chad and Megan Photography began.
A: We’ve been in business for 6 years. We took the occasional photo of a person, but until then our expertise was in landscape photography. We were asked to take high school senior photos for a family member. It was at this point we realized the emotion that can be captured through our images. We grew our talent and expertise and stepped into Wedding Photography. We have the best job in the world. We get to spend a day documenting the emotions that come with your wedding. Whether it is the first time Dad sees his baby girl in her dress or the groom tearing up reading the note his soon-to-be wife wrote to him. We get to live in these stories for just one day, but we get to capture the story for the rest of your lives.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: We are a luxury boutique photography company that offers our clients a way to tell the story of their big day through artwork and luxury albums. We love that we will be creating your first family heirlooms that will be passed on through generations to come.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: We have been in the industry for 6 years. Through building our business we have realized that it is no longer just about capturing images and delivering them to a client. For a photography company to be successful and stand out they need to offer an experience and not just a service. At Chad and Megan Photography you get just that. From our initial consultation where we get to know each other to the timeline meetings or ordering & design sessions, we are your trusted advisor. The photographer is the one vendor you will be with most of the day. The experience you get with Chad and Megan Photography takes the worry out of your day. When your big day is over you will get to relive your day through our images within 2 weeks. This is part of the grand experience you will get with Chad & Megan Photography.
Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: Walking through a wedding day. We will get to the location where the bride and groom are getting ready. We will arrive early to make sure we have any kind of buffer we might need throughout the day. We will capture the emotions and tasks of getting ready. We will creatively capture the details of both the bride and the groom. Next, we will capture the groomsmen and/or bridesmaids interacting with the bride and groom. We will step in when necessary to assist the bride and groom with anything they might need. Megan has become a sort of dress corset savant. Just one of the many random skills we as wedding photographers have picked up.

Once the group shots are completed, we will capture the first looks between the bride and groom, sometimes the father and the bride as well. Then, we move into a creative session with the bride and groom. This is our specialty. This is where we take the bride and groom and create amazing artwork as you see on our website. It is creative, dramatic, and beautiful. The next images will be captured at the ceremony where we will have both Megan and Chad shooting from different angles, so we capture all of the emotion of the big event. After the ceremony, we will capture the details of the reception venue as well as capturing images to tell the story of the ensuing celebration. At the end of the night, we will make sure the bride and groom got all of the special images they were looking for and we will be on our way. Within 2 weeks the couple will be able to see their images as well as order and design their artwork.
Q: What would you want couples searching for your business type to know?
A: We are a full-service photography studio. Our job is to offer you an experience like no other. We will capture your day in a way that is creative and emotional. We will tell that story through the album that is included in all of our wedding collections. We will get to know each other and have fun through this whole process. We love meeting and making new lifelong friends through this process. On your wedding day, it won’t be, “Hey there is our photographer”. It’ll be “Hey there is Chad & Megan and we are glad they are the ones telling our story.”
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: Generally, a couple would want to book us 6 months to a year out. The closer we get to the wedding date, the more likely it is that we are booked. But it’s always worth a try to see if we still have your special day available.
Q: What’s hot in wedding photography and videography right now?
A: Dramatic images with architecture in the background are pretty hot in Wedding Photography. Brides wearing long cathedral veils with shots of the veil flowing in the wind. Bridal portrait sessions are also making a comeback. However, they are not just for the Bride anymore. Typically, we see our couples coming in together for this session. Whether they do this to get a dry run on how things will look the day of or come in after the wedding because they were rained out or wanted another location that they couldn’t get to on their wedding day. Either way, who doesn’t like an excuse to wear their wedding day attire for a 2nd time?
Q: Describe your photography/videography style.
A: Our photography style is dramatic, creative, and modern.
Q: Do you ever travel to shoot weddings? If so, what has been your favorite destination so far?
A: We have done destination shoots. Our favorite was in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. However, typically we travel all around MN and Western WI.
Q: What are your hobbies and passions when you’re not behind the camera?
A: Both Megan and I love the outdoors. Traveling is our favorite thing to do. But we also like camping, fishing, hunting, Escape Rooms, and spending time with our friends and family.

A: Flats (Megan), I (Chad) haven’t tried either. A man of my stature probably couldn’t be supported on heels.

A: This is a question of contention in our house. Of course, it is duck duck grey duck (Chad), even though Megan insists that it is duck duck goose and thinks anything else is preposterous.
