Get to know why Bailey loves what she does and her favorite place she’s traveled to. (Hint – wine was involved!)
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Residential Real Estate with eXp Realty
Q: Where can we find you?
A: My office is located at 9605 Schmidt Lake Road, Plymouth, MN. But I work with clients everywhere in the greater Twin Cities metro area!
Q: Tell us when and how your business began.
A: In 1955, Edina Minnesota housewife and mother of three, Emma Rovick, borrowed $2,000 and bought a struggling real estate firm in order to make enough money to buy a piano for her daughter. She inherited three salespeople and managed to sell $2 million in real estate that first year. Her first office was at 50th and France in Edina before France Avenue was even paved.
I joined the Edina Realty team in 2020 after a recommendation from a life-long family friend who has partnered with Edina Realty for 30+ years!
Q: What makes your business unique from others?
A: My business philosophy is, “First the key to your heart. Then the key to your home.” I dedicate my time and services working in my clients’ best interests, sometimes sharing information that they need to hear vs want to hear. My goal is to become their Realtor for life, becoming great friends along the way.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: I have been in client services and care industry for 6 years now! The preferred communication methods seem to have shifted, with more of my clients preferring text these days. But the overall basics of customer service haven’t changed a bit… All people want is to trust the person they are working with and have their thoughts heard.
Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: One of my favorite parts of being a Realtor is that every day looks different! Some days I spend my afternoon at the Edina Realty Plymouth office, learning something new every day from the other agents that I work with. Most other days are centered around my clients — sometimes I am driving an hour to do back-to-back showings, and other days I am enjoying a casual cup of coffee with clients that are looking to sell their forever homes and downsize!
Q: What would you want couples searching for a home to know?
A: When you select a Realtor, make sure they are honest with you on current market trends. You want to be set up for success, so having the right mindset when you start is very important. For example, the current market is very unbalanced in favor of sellers. The majority of buyers have to submit several offers before they find the perfect home. It can be a bumpy ride, but if you are buckled in with truthful information from the start it is much easier.
Q: What kind of weddings do you like the most?
A: I love classic and casual weddings with TONS of floral. Someday I’ll have the white dress and lovely ceremony followed by pulled pork sandwiches.
Q: How can a couple prepare for being first-time homeowners?
A: Step one: Find a realtor. Even if you aren’t planning to buy for a couple of years, having a professional give advice today is extremely valuable in the planning process. My other tips would be to continue saving… a down payment is the financing that you prepare for. What you don’t prepare for are the household expenses that don’t come with renting. Do you have a snowblower? How about a hose to water the gardens at the back of the house? It adds up when you are just getting started.
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: Favorite place you’ve traveled to?
A: Definitely Italy—pasta and wine are my definition of heaven.
Q: Who’s your most played artist on your streaming service?
A: Shania Twain
Q: Heels or flats?
A: Trick question- I start the night in my heels and then end the night in my spare flats
Q: Mountains or Beach?
A: Mountains
Q: Go-to cocktail (or mocktail)?
A: Margarita
Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Forensic Scientist (I watched a lot of CSI with my dad)
Q: You’re at brunch. Are you going for something sweet or savory?
A: Savory
Q: Go-to comfort food?
A: Pizza Rolls
Q: Duck Duck Grey Duck or Duck Duck Goose?
A: Duck Duck Grey Duck… there is no other way to play the game!
