Adding personal touches to your wedding day design like gorgeous velvet table linens or a cozy lounge by the bar shows your guests you want them to have an unforgettable experience. Haven and Gather is a new boutique rental company in Minneapolis with inventory you can’t find anywhere else in the Twin Cities. We chatted to the Lead Designer, Sally Berry, about how they can level up your wedding.
Meet Sally and see their offerings in person at UNVEILED Sunday, January 8th!
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Curated Furniture Lounges, Furniture Rental, Fine Linens
Q: Where can we find you?
A: Minneapolis and at HavenAndGather.com
Q: Tell us when and how your business began.
A: Haven and Gather was created to offer the Twin Cities and beyond a one-stop boutique offering a depth of furnishings and over 300 fine linen options.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: Haven and Gather is a boutique rental house offering fine linens, furniture, bars, event decor, and much more. We are here to offer an exceptional design experience for your next event. We have created a one-stop-shop for ease of planning.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: Haven and Gather is brand new but personally, I have been in the wedding industry for over 15 years. So many things have changed, I love that more events are bringing in lounges to the events and creating an experience for their guests. It is really nice to not have to sit at your dinner table when dancing starts! I also love to see all the details—personal details about the couple and incorporating things they love, things their families love—makes each event unique and very different.
Q: What would you want couples searching for wedding rentals to know?
A: We have it all—design experience, a lot of knowledge about weddings, amazing linens and rentals. We have items that you won’t find anywhere else and we also have the depth so you won’t have the hassle of renting from multiple rental companies. Keeping your vendor list small is refreshing for a couple, less people to manage, less stress on the big day.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: It all depends on when your event is happening. If your wedding is May-October, 6 months in advance is probably the best to ensure we have your items available and that you have the budget for the items you are requesting. It is always best to be ahead of the game.
Q: Any wedding trends you’d like to see fade out?
A: Anything DIY, Pampas Grass, grid metal backdrops
Q: How would you describe your personal decor style?
A: Traditional but also like some modern trends, comfortable style
Q: What’s trending in wedding decor right now? What trends can we expect to see in the future?
A: I am seeing pops of color added to a neutral palette which I really think is something to look forward to. I also am seeing big impactful floral installations, great backdrops and couples creating lounge areas for their guests. Keeping events comfortable and interactive is really nice.
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: What show are you binging right now?
A: Cheer, Housewives, and Ozark!
Q: You’re in charge of the lineup for your dream concert. Who are your headliners?
A: Elton John, Coldplay, U2, 90’s Rap
Q: Gold or Silver?
A: Gold
Q: Black Tie or Casual?
A: Depends — I like for everyone to be comfortable and casual is easy but a black-tie event is really special too.
Q: You’re at brunch. Are you going for something sweet or savory?
A: Hands down—Sweet!!! French Toast or pancakes are the best!
Q: Favorite board game?
A: Clue and Scattergories–favorite games played with my kids–it is hard to cheat at these games!!
Q: Do you have any favorite podcasts?
A: Living with Landyn, Heather McMahon and True Crime
Q: Favorite place you’ve traveled to?
A: Santa Barbara, CA and I love Mexico
