We talked to Maria Becker RN of The Aesthetic Lounge by Twin Ports Dermatology about how her years of experience combined with her passion for skincare will help couples feel confident before and after their wedding day.
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Cosmetic Injections. I have been trained on every injectable that is on the market. We carry Botox, Dysport (wrinkle relaxers), Juvederm, Restylane, RHA (hyaluronic acid fillers), Radiesse, Sculptra (collagen stimulators), QWO (cellulite), and Kybella (fat reduction in jowls and neck).

Q: Tell us when and how The Aesthetic lounge by Twin Ports Dermatology began.
A: Twin Ports Dermatology opened in 2015 in Duluth. The Aesthetic Lounge site opened in 2021.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: Experience and training. I have been in the aesthetic industry for 16 years and am constantly keeping up to date with current products and the latest procedures.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: 16 years. We used to start treating aging in the 40’s and 50’s. Now, the focus is on prevention and wellness.
Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: I see clients aged 18-80 all day who want to look and feel their best. I help make a game plan for each person based on their goals, budget, and lifestyle. Lots of injections to lift and soften wrinkles.
Q: What would you want couples searching for cosmetic procedures to know?
A: That we treat a lot of men too!
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: In Duluth, we are booking out several months. In the cities, you can usually get in within 1-2 weeks.
Q: What’s the most popular treatment for brides and grooms right now?
A: Botox and lip fillers.

A: My 100% choice would be Prince. So sad that he is no longer with us. I’d have to say Stephen Curry from the Warriors. My son Charlie loves him, so I’d get his autograph.
