We talked to Elizabeth and Orren, the sister and brother duo behind the business, about how they got their start and what they love about weddings.
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Bringing people together with music and creating an event everyone will enjoy.
Q: Where can we find you?
A: We are located in Hastings, MN
Q: Tell us when and how your business began.
A: It started about 15 years ago. My brother, Orren, began DJing in the evenings at local venues. He moved on to larger events and then transitioned into the wedding scene.
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: We take the time to connect with our clients and find out what their vision for their reception dance is, and then create an evening of music and fun made specifically for them.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: Altogether about 20 years. The biggest change is in the technology we now have available to use.
Q: What would you want couples searching for your business type to know?
A: Hiring the right DJ for your event is critical to the desired tone for your event. A DJ can be very versatile in creating a lively event for your guests of all age groups and backgrounds. They are a live version of music right there at your fingertips!
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: I would recommend one year and no less than 6 months. DJ services book fast during the wedding season!
Q: What’s your favorite song to play at a wedding? Least favorite song?
A: It’s a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong is a favorite, and my least favorite is anything by Menudo. – Orren
Q: What’s the most unique wedding you’ve ever DJ’d for?
A: It was on a cruise ship, a great location! – Orren
Q: Any cool first dance stories?
A: The bride and groom danced with the groom’s daughter who has Down’s Syndrome. – Orren

A: Taller than I was then!
