Are you and your fiancé baseball lovers? Looking for a super unique wedding venue? CHS Field, home of the Saint Paul Saints, is the perfect spot for your wedding. Located in Lowertown Saint Paul, CHS Field can accommodate up to 250 guests including home plate ceremonies and cityscape receptions. We talked to two of the stadium’s event experts about why you should consider this iconic location as your wedding venue below!
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Our specialty is first and foremost baseball, as we host the Saint Paul Saints and Hamline University home baseball games. Additionally, we host a number of different ballpark events such as Grill Fest and Cat Video Festival. We also have a beautiful indoor space named the Securian Financial Club where we host weddings, corporate meetings, and holiday parties.
Q: Where can we find you?
A: We are located at the heart of Lowertown, St. Paul at 360 N Broadway, St. Paul, MN 55101.
Q: Tell us when and how CHS Field began.
A: CHS Field was built in 2015 after moving from Midway Stadium. The concourse was built at street level so it would blend in with downtown/lowertown and people could view the field from Broadway Street. CHS Field uses some of the same design elements as the buildings in historic Lowertown. Design shifts from Urban to Green spaces from west to east as landscape shifts outside the ballpark
Q: What makes your company unique from others?
A: We are the home of the MN Twins Triple-A affiliate, The Saint Paul Saints. You don’t have to be a baseball fan to enjoy the beautiful views of both the baseball diamond and Lowertown St. Paul. The Securian Financial Club features floor to ceiling windows on three sides, a large built-in bar, concrete flooring and covered outdoor patio with seating.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: Julia has been in the event industry for two and a half years. Sarah has been in the event industry for 3 years. From a wedding venue standpoint, a few changes we have seen are: couples are choosing to have more intimate size weddings by decreasing their guest list and buffet dinners are becoming more common. On a ballpark standpoint, two changes we’ve noticed are: clients are looking to host more extravagant events with bringing in multiple vendors/entertainment and we have seen an increase in outdoor event requests.
Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: Every day, working at a baseball stadium looks a little bit different (sometimes a lot a bit different). Usually, the day starts with following up on emails and checking the events calendar and ends with following up with our meetings and tours from the day.
Q: What should a couple searching for their wedding venue know?
A: We are a very unique venue where couples can have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of getting married on Homeplate and taking pictures in the dugouts and around the ballpark. Our rental price is all-inclusive as we carry tables, chairs, additional furniture, AV equipment, and a private entrance.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: We recommend booking no more than a year out from your event date due to our priority scheduling and Saints baseball schedule.
Q: What is the biggest crowd-pleaser at your venue?
A: Our biggest crowd-pleaser is the view of both Lowertown St. Paul and the Ballpark
Q: What are your other hobbies and passions besides creating beautiful wedding days?
A: We both enjoy attending other MN team sporting events (Twins, Wild, Vikings, etc.) and exploring new places in Minnesota.
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: Do you have any favorite podcasts?
A: Julia: New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce | Sarah: On Fire with Jeff Probst
Q: Who’s your most played artist on your streaming service?
A: Julia: Luke Combs | Sarah: Toby Keith

A: Julia: A water bottle | Sarah: A plane ticket to Florida
Q: Mountains or Beach?
A: Julia: Beach | Sarah: Beach
Q: Go-to cocktail (or mocktail)?
