Designers have re-introduced 3D flower appliques with embroidered lace and delicately detailed long trains. Tasteful plunging necklines are more present but not quite as wide of an opening and lower backs with delicate trimmed accents really speak to romance. This coming season we are going to see very long capes. From clean line crepe draped backs extending to a full train and even some with multiple layers and embellishments in a more traditional style. We are delighted to see all the designers embrace their own styles and unique ideas for their designs.
Color has also entered into the mix including the usual nude color but popping this year is black, moss green and rose. The designers did not stop there as beautiful silk fabrics were hand panted and hand beaded with the artisan spending hours upon hours of their time creating a masterpiece. We saw short dresses that allow the drama of the ceremony to be removed for the party to follow. Adding fun element to the bridal style, some dresses included feather embellished hems that chime back to the 1960’s Mondrian dress. We think this style is perfect for a courthouse or intimate garden wedding at home. Each season there is always a standout fabric or embellishment the designers intentionally introduce, and this season it continues to be feathers. On some gowns the feathers are so delicate it creates an effect that looks as if the bride’s movements are effortless or in slow motion.

Many designers are introducing a more creative and edgy look into their collection. There are two standouts in this category whichever way you want to look at it. In order to see it you will need to go under the gown because the gown actually looks like an undergarment of crinoline. For that edgy bride who dares to be different, this can add a bold modern twist to even the most classic ball gown silhouettes. From classic to coloring way outside of the lines there is something for every bride this season. After taking in seventeen fashion shows in two and a half days, running from one show to another we can tell the Fall/Winter 2019 season is going to be a phenomenal one.
