It’s the time of year when we all make plans for the new year, but did you know that there are New Year’s resolutions for couples that can apply to wedding planning? That’s right. Consider “being kinder to others” and apply it to your vendors. Or how about “get out of debt” is turned into “stay within my wedding budget”. You get the idea. Keep reading for New Year’s resolution ideas that will help make the wedding planning process easier.
NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR COUPLES: TREAT VENDORS WELL
Equal Parts Cocktail Company
Many people vow to treat others better in the new year. For wedding planning couples, how about applying this to those putting your day together? You hired them for a reason, now go with their talents and don’t micro-manage. It takes away from their creativity and will only frustrate you both.
RESOLUTION: DO BETTER WITH FINANCES
Try to do better at sticking to your wedding budget. We know it’s hard when you see some outrageously beautiful décor on Pinterest or the gown with the imported lace, but so is paying the bill when you don’t have the means. It will cause fights and stress you don’t need. Stick to a budget you are comfortable with. Remember that no matter what happens, your wedding is ONE day, and it will be amazing, and it’s about who you’re spending the rest of your life with (not that extra tabletop décor).
RESOLUTION: GET FIT
Yeah, we all may wish to shed a few lbs. If your new year’s resolution for couples is to get fit, start your wellness routine early, and stick with it. How? Make it fun, add some incentives. For every 5 workouts, you earn a manicure or other little treat. There are many bridal workouts out there so check them out, and create a schedule that works for you. Enlist bridesmaids to do a class together, you can even join a Zoom workout class, which means bridal party members can join in no matter where they live.
RESOLUTION: BE KINDER
Another great idea for New Year’s resolutions for couples is to be kinder! This means no, you won’t be a bridezilla — so you’ll treat your bridal party respectfully. If you’re going to give them bridesmaid “duties”, show your appreciation with one of these great gifts.

RESOLUTION: STAY HEALTHY WITH HYDRATION
Every year one of us says it, but not all of us abide by it, “I will hydrate more”. Make it easier to stay hydrated by making sure you have plenty of water around your home, where you work, even your car. This is also good for your skin, so it will complement any beauty regimens (monthly bridal facials, anyone?) that you have planned. Also keep plenty of creams, balms, and other moisturizers around to keep skin healthy, too.
