No matter how much the groom wants to be involved in wedding planning, he can always use a bit of advice to get him through the process. We’ve tapped some of the best wedding planners out there to share their sage advice, here’s a round-up of tips for grooms:
- “Every groom should know how to tie a bow tie“. – Amy Zaroff, Founder / Creative Director, Amy Zaroff Events+Design
2. “If buying a tux or suit, have it in your closet, along with your shirt(s), tie/bow tie, pocket square, belt, shoes, socks & cuff links ONE MONTH prior to your wedding day. If renting, make sure you try on every piece two days before your wedding day.” – Joan Nilsen Beyer, Ambiente Weddings
3. “Your groomsmen should reflect your inner circle; choose your best confidants or comrades or those that have and will always have your back. There is no magic number or formula. You may have 2 or 12 groomsmen, and standing up with you on your big day means more to them than you may know” – Rene Kraus, Agnes Verano Weddings & Events
4. ” ‘Own’ at least one thing in the process that is totally yours and you can be excited about. Cake, booze, food, music… whatever. Pick something and engage with it!” – Lindsay Landman, Lindsay Landman Events
5. “Enjoy yourself and your partner and the ceremony and the party afterward. You did it! Really connect with all of your guests, even if for just a few minutes. It will mean so much to them. Thank those around you who helped make this big day happen — your friends and family and all the service providers. Everyone takes great pride in a wonderful wedding. Let it be known that you noticed.” – Rene Kraus, Agnes Verano Weddings & Events
Hopefully, these tips for grooms will encourage them to be a part of the process and enjoy it at the same time!
