As part of our sustainable series in celebration of Earth Day, we had to touch on ways to make an eco-friendly bridal shower or bachelorette party, because there are many ways to do it. From invites to activities to favors, we’ve got you covered.
ECO-FRIENDLY INVITES
Start off by saving the trees with an E-vite (they have both shower and bachelorette party options) or Paperless Post invitation (they have amazing collabs with Rifle Paper Co., Oscar De la Renta, kate spade new york and more that are so pretty!). There are so many stylish options these days, and people appreciate getting an invite they can add to their computer calendar as soon as the invite hits their e-mailbox.
If you feel you want to mail something out, use recycled paper. There are pretty options on Etsy.com.
Eco-Friendly Décor
We get it, washing tons of dishes after a soiree isn’t your cup of tea. Several companies make cute compostable plates, cups, and utensils in a range of patterns and colors from renewable or recycled materials. Plus, neutral and nude tones are IN and these sustainable options will fit perfectly.
On the other hand, you can support a local event rental company and decrease waste if you rent tableware, linens, and decor. The Fond Collective focuses on mix and match items to make your event custom and unique. No matter the theme for your eco-friendly bridal shower, they can help you find items that are modern, vintage, boho, or earthy. Here are some of their recent setups!
For decorative balls or lanterns, check out Green Party Goods. They use rice paper or recycled paper or tissue for super cute décor that is gentle on the environment.
Sustainable Activities
To make your shower or bachelorette party social, consider volunteer work as part of the festivities. If the bride or couple of honor does this on the regular, this will truly be special to have their nearest and dearest participating with them in a cause they love. And it’s one more great way to make an eco-friendly bridal shower or bachelorette party. Check out Volunteer Match to discover a variety of opportunities in your area where you can help out!
Eco-Friendly Gifts & Favors
Ask for a donation to the bride’s or couple’s favorite charity in lieu of gifts (those relating to COVID-19 are popular right now, but all charities can use help these days, including eco-friendly-centric charities like Greenpeace).
For favors, consider giving a plant. Succulents are very popular and we like these from The Succulent Source:
Beau-Coup also has many options when it comes to eco-friendly favors, from cacti to plantable seeds. And we have other stories just dedicated to wedding shower favors, so check them out!
