Q: What does Mestad’s Bridal and Formalwear specialize in?
A: Formal attire – for Brides, Bridesmaids, Tuxedoes and Suits for the wedding party, and an extensive inventory of formal Prom and special occasion gowns!
Q: What makes Mestad’s Bridal and Formalwear stand out in terms of bridal gown options?
A: We carry many exclusive Designers – as well as a very large inventory of gown options.
Q: When did Mestad’s Bridal and Formalwear open and how did it begin?
A: 1980 we began in a little 2,000 square foot store. We have grown to a 10,000-square foot store, that is currently open under construction that will open at the end of January!
Q: What do you think makes bridal fashion different from other design?
A: The uniqueness of fabric and design with a limited array of fabrics.
Q: What is an average day in the shop like?
A: Busy helping brides or placing Tux orders. Receiving new merchandise. Steaming new merchandise Answering the phone, – Straitening merchandise…There is always something to do!!
Q: What would you want bride looking for their perfect gown to know?
A: To trust their consultant – they know the merchandise better than anyone!
Q: Any advice for brides who don’t have a specific vision of how they would like to look on their wedding day? Where should they start?
A: Think about the venue of the wedding – Formal or Casual? Outside or inside? Choose their wedding attire based on their vision of the day is always a good place to begin.

Q: Do you have any memorable dress shopping stories you could share with us?
A: Our most memorable stories are those which include the key women in a bride’s life helping her select the most important gown she will wear.
Q: Do you currently have a favorite gown style/look?
A: We love the formal look that is back on trend, along with a touch of metallic and a pop of color.
Q: How do you choose the gowns you carry in your store?
A: We want to make sure we have all silhouettes are represented at many price points. The right amount of sparkle, lace, and unembellished gowns are important for the many tastes of the brides.
Q: What do you like about working in the wedding industry?
A: I very much enjoy the fashion aspect of the industry. Whether it is going to New York Bridal week to see what is trending, or to Barcelona to get a feel of the European trends, the fashion is always exciting!
