Q: What does your business specialize in?
A: Hospitality is about the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, and strangers. At the Crowne Plaza Northstar Minneapolis, we live by that every day. Our goal is to provide guests with a lasting impression regardless of the reason for their visits. We specialize in events and great guest experiences.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Centrally located in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis.
Q: What makes your business stand out compared to other options?
A: Our location is ideal. We are surrounded by art, theatre, great restaurants, and the hotel is always buzzing with guests from all over. We have a beautiful unique outdoor garden, which is one of a kind. We have hosted some of the most memorable experiences and have a great history within the city. We are still proud to be the Northstar.
Q: When and how did your business begin?
A: The hotel started as The Northstar Inn in the late 1960s. In 1980 we become the Omni Hotel Minneapolis and in 1990 Crowne Plaza Northstar Minneapolis.
Q: What’s an average day like for your business?
A: Every day is unique with guests from attending conferences, weddings, Twins games, Vikings games, concerts and so much more. Our doors are always open, welcoming visitors from all over.
Q: What would you want couples searching for your business type to know?
A: We have a one-of-a-kind beautiful outdoor garden on the 8thfloor in the heart of the city. We have unique suites and additional space for rehearsal dinners, receptions, and more. We want each couple to know we will take of every detail, we want them to enjoy each moment.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your business?
A: That it doesn’t feel like a business. I work in the hotel industry which is so exciting. I meet so many great people and work with a team that is like family.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: Eight months to a year out.
Q: What do you like about working in the wedding industry?
A: The memorable moments I get to share with our wedding couples. Assisting them from the start of their venue search to the special details of the most important day of their lives. Watching them walk down the aisle and the smile on their faces are priceless.
