Every now and then we come across some really pretty, unique, or just plain cool items at the Stationary and Gift Show in New York City. This is when vendors gather and present their latest wares in hopes of being picked up by different stores from all over the US. We saw our fair share of candles, stickers, pins, thank you notes, and journals, but here are just a few things on our radar that we thought we should bring to your attention. Many can already be purchased through their own websites, so if you like what you see here, you can already score them, even as a gift to yourself.
Article White Candles
These candles stand out because they are relatively affordable, subtly scented and sleek in their packaging. In speaking to their representative we learned couples are using them at their weddings and picking the flavor that matches their initials, so when grouped together, they look like custom monogrammed candles (without the cost of going custom).
Hand Embroidered Heart Maps and Travel Gifts by Sadie & June
Whether these are art for your home or a gift for someone else, these maps are sweet and sentimental. As a great gift for a couple, pick where they met, where they live or where they are getting married, and the artists at Sadie & June will hand embroider a heart on a map of that locale. An unusual gift unlike any other, and a nice keepsake for your home.
Hu is Hungry
We fell in love with the Hu is Hungry line because it was bold, cute, and lighthearted. Started by Dingding Hu, the products are all centered around food, and the characters are adorable. The illustrator makes wall art, stickers, pins, and cards, and we just love her playful aesthetic. When you need a light pick me up, use her cards to send a note, we dare you not to smile when you’re writing on it.
Wit & Delight Planners
We just love the new line of paper products from Wit & Delight’s founder, Kate Arens (hooray for a local fave!). Design Loop has commissioned her to make cards and planners and all of it is flying off the shelves. The latest planners are the newest popular item in her collection and the sleek design and high-end materials push you to want to be as organized as the planner suggests are possible. Gift it to your bridesmaids or keep it for yourself, it’s bound to come in handy in wedding planning.
Talking Out of Turn Card Sets
This company had lots of cute journals, notebooks, and task pads but we wanted to show you these notecards because it’s important to keep the love alive while planning your wedding. You need to remember to check in with the florist, arrange a food tasting and get your dress altered, but don’t forget to send your honey a nice note now and then, to remember why you’re doing all this planning in the first place. These cards come in a set of 6.
