With hundreds of different wedding gowns to choose from, Mestad’s Bridal and Formal Wear is sure to have the style you’ve been looking for. They are a family-owned business that carries everything from moderate to couture wedding gowns.
You’ll find Mestads on our UNVEILED Rochester runway, but before you do, we chatted with Holly Mestad about their shop and what’s trending in bridal right now!
For over two decades, Mestads has been helping brides from around the world find their dream gown. Located in Rochester, Minnesota, they have a variety of dresses ranging in size 2-28 including ones for every budget. They source their gowns from designers all over the world to find the very best fabrics, fit, and value, and only select from the highest quality fashion houses.
At Mestad’s Bridal and Formal Wear you’ll see gowns from designers like Christina Wu, Sophia Tolli, Allure, Elysee, and Eve of Milady, alongside many others. Holly says you’ll see these dresses in a variety of fabrics and silhouettes on the UNVEILED Runway as well as their hottest styles in bridesmaid’s fashion.
Over the last few years, Holly has seen a shift from brides selecting strapless gowns to choosing more lace fabrics and cleaner silhouettes, “For 2022, you can expect to see more traditional trends come into play like sleeves, crepe materials, and longer trains.” Many of these elements were seen from Mestads on the UNVEILED Minneapolis runway, below.
Mestads’ bridal consultants are a team of well-versed professionals that make it their goal to ensure brides find just what they are looking for. They are even often trained by the designers and stylists themselves! When you make an appointment with one of their experts, keep in mind that dresses are taking longer than usual to order. “The pandemic is causing supply chain issues that are affecting delivery times, so it’s best to make your appointment with us at least 8-12 months out if you are ordering a gown,” says Holly.
One more tip she has is that it’s helpful to know your wedding venue, date, and preferred style of gown prior to coming in for your appointment. Do a little bit of research in advance and consider the fabric, silhouette, neckline, and color before you begin trying dresses on to narrow down what’s important for finding your ideal gown.
Mestads Bridal and Formal Wear will be rocking the UNVEILED Rochester runway on Sunday, January 30th, only at J. Powers located at the Hilton so reserve your seat and get tickets now!
