Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: I spend most days helping customers, planning out displays and designing arrangements for all occasions. I love being creative, so my favorite part is helping couples with their consultations and putting together different combinations of blooms.
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: Hy-Vee is super flexible, I have done smaller weddings with a few days’ notice and large events planned a year out.
Q: What would you want couples searching for their catering or flowers to know?
A: All our weddings are custom – you are a unique couple, and your wedding needs are too! If you have an idea, ask about it! Let’s make it happen!
Q: What’s trending in wedding eats and floral right now?
A: Buffets are back in a big way! Mini treats such as donuts, cupcakes and other dessert items are always a hit. In floral I’ve been super excited to see couples choosing more unique color combinations and mixtures of styles and textures. I have also seen some couples heading towards more simple elegant classic choices. Ultimately I tell couples to forget what is hot now, and go with what makes them happy!
Q: What do you think we’ll see more of in cake/catering/or floral trends?
A: I think we will continue to see weddings reflecting the couple and their own personal tastes. It’s a great way to celebrate your relationship! Every couple deserves a fantastic wedding whatever their budget is, so we need to get creative!
