A Milestone Paper Co. is known for “Beautiful Design. Simple Process. Friendly Help.” But they also make really pretty paper that’s modern, stylish, and sets the tone for any event. Whether it’s a funky save-the-date or a traditional invitation, Sarah Glad, owner and designer, knows the hot wedding stationery trends. She has tips on how to choose what’s modern, while also make it your own.
Hot Wedding Stationery Trends: Personalization
Personalization is not going away anytime soon, there are just new ways to do it. No longer solely through a monogram, now couples are getting much more creative when it comes to personalizing their paper. “People are featuring their venue in their design elements, and other personal touches like where they are from.” Glad referred to a program where the bride and groom were from different countries, so they used the Canadian and US flags to represent their different home countries.
Another way to infuse unique design elements is through envelope liners, as Glad tells us, “For example, we made custom envelope liners featuring Canadian and American flags for a couple getting married in the US and moving to Canada (where the groom grew up).”
Hot Wedding Stationery Trends: Materials
Acrylic is all the rage and we’re seeing it used in a variety of ways. From welcome signs to menus, this clear material is modern and fresh and works with any color or font choice.
Another popular material has been wood, as seen here in this paper suite. You’ll notice only the invite is in wood, with other elements in coordinating colors, with gold font bringing it all together.
Hot Wedding Stationery Trends: Skylines & Paper Shape
And yet another way that couples are infusing their roots is through skylines, which always come across in a fun way on paper. Alternatively, Glad has had several couples request the shape of their state be the actual shape of their invite, a way for their invite to be unique but personalized at the same time.

A Fun Way To Share Your Story
And if you’re still looking for a way to stand out, there are more ways to show who you are as a couple, through icons, lists, and tidbits, the way Ashley and David did on their program. “We love to create wedding programs that feature facts about the couple including their dating story, individual interests, and mutual interests.” Knowing their hobbies, how they met, and other background info gives attendees a closer perspective and keeps the celebration fun.
