Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Men’s and Ladies’ Custom Clothing /Wedding Planning
Q: Where can we find you?
A: 10 South 5th Street (Lumber Exchange Building) Minneapolis, Minn. 55402
Q: Tell us when and how your business began.
A: My career started at a fine men’s store. From there I gravitated towards the custom end of the business. I have been in business for 26 years.
Q: What makes Daniel’s Custom Clothing unique from others?
A: Excellent service! My ability to recognize and create clothing for everyone. Our selection of cloth from Italy and England combined with master tailoring creates beautiful clothing.
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: 25 years. The biggest change is obviously the trend to casual clothing. The dress shirt is the new suit for many people, so creating beautiful sport shirts for each individual has taken the place of suiting. We wear a shirt every day it may just as well be one we love and look forward to putting on.
Q: Walk us through your average workday.
A: My days are full of beautiful fabrics and accessories. I love putting them together for a client and seeing the look on their faces when they come to try everything on. The attention to detail is key and keeps me on my toes!
Q: What would you want couples searching for wedding fashions to know?
A: The groom should look like the groom. A nice tuxedo or beautiful custom suit should be part of his attire. Having a nice suit available to you long after the wedding makes sense. Everyone should have a go-to suit! The groomsmen: You can have them buy a cheap suit that they may not like or ever wear again. Or you can allow Daniel to personally take care of them and they will have a nice suit to wear from that day on. Your photos will tell the story!
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: Try to give me 2 months, especially if I am dealing with 4-6 groomsmen.
Q: Are there any wedding trends you would like to see fade away?
A: No, a wedding should fit you and your fiancé’s personal style and taste! Therefore, get creative and have a wedding that people will not forget!
Q: What trends can we expect to see more of this year?
A: Smaller, unfortunately, because of rules and Covid.
Q: What’s YOUR favorite recent wedding fashion trend?
A: Allow the dog to be in the wedding! Yes, we make tuxedos for your baby!
Q: What is your best piece of advice for couples on the hunt for their wedding fashion?
A: Do not sweat it. Allow me to take care of this portion of the wedding planning. Give me the list of names of the groomsmen and I will take over!
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: Duck Duck Grey Duck or Duck Duck Goose?
A: Duck Duck Daniel
