Wedding photography is so much more than taking photos. It’s capturing all of the perfect, candid moments throughout your day and the entire wedding experience. Matthew Eberle of Matthew Eberle Photography began documenting his own life a decade ago and in just the past two years has taken up wedding photography full-time. Discover how this Disney actor found his way behind the camera.
Q: Let’s get to it, what’s your business’ specialty?
A: Providing an amazing wedding photography experience!
Q: Where can we find you?
A: Mostly running around the Twin Cities, but destination packages are available!
Q: Tell us when and how Matthew Eberle Photography began.
A: I’ve been shooting for about 10 years now and decided 2 years to move to full-time!
Q: How long have you been in the industry? What do you think has changed the most since then?
A: Roughly 10 years now. Easily the technology. It continues to develop and redefine our industry from the equipment we use to how we develop the photos, and how we deliver our photos.
Q: What would you want couples searching for wedding photography/videography needs to know?
A: This is what I tell all the couples I meet with; find someone you mesh with and feel comfortable around. Your wedding day is meant to be about you. Find someone who will support you and help you to make amazing memories, not just capture them!
Q: What makes Matthew Eberle Photography unique from other photography businesses?
A: My company is unique in the sense that there is an emphasis on the “experience” and “customer service.” Weddings are about celebrating two people’s stories joining together as one. I don’t just capture a couple’s story, I add to it, support it, and help them create memories that they will be able to cherish forever!
Q: How far in advance should a couple book with you?
A: Most couples book with me a year in advance. Occasionally I’ll get inquiries the year of, and if I have the dates available I’m happy to oblige!
Q: What’s trending in wedding photography and videography right now?
A: Right now, the “BoHo” aesthetic is trending. The matte color palate typically paired with an outdoor wedding.
Q: Describe your photography/videography style.
A: If I had to pick one, I’d say photojournalistic.
Q: Do you ever travel to shoot weddings? If so, what has been your favorite destination so far?
A: Absolutely! Right now it’s a tie between a sunrise proposal at the Eiffel Tower and a wedding anniversary at the Osaka Castle in Japan.
LIGHTNING ROUND!
Q: What show are you binging right now?
A: Drink Master on Netflix! Think Hell’s Kitchen but with Cocktails.
Q: You’re in charge of the lineup for your dream concert. Who are your headliners?
A: Queen. Duh.
Q: Gold or Silver?
A: Silver! You can’t fight werewolves with gold!
Q: What is your favorite Minnesota activity?
A: I have become absolutely addicted to Pickleball.
Q: You’re at brunch. Are you going for something sweet or savory?
A: Eggs Benedict, always.
Q: What is your hidden talent?
A: I used to be an actor. Worked for both Disney and Universal Studios!
Q: Do you have any favorite podcasts?
A: NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and NADDPOD.
Q: Mountains or Beach?
A: Mountains during the summer, Beach during the winter!
Q: If you could choose any celebrity or public figure to sit next to on a plane, who would it be?
A: This one’s easy. Samuel L Jackson, just in case any snakes showed up!
Matthew will be at Twin Cities Bridal Show so be sure to meet him at the show!
